Police say 1 person dead, 2 injured in car crash in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. — Fresno police are investigating a crash that killed one person and injured two others Saturday morning.

Police responded to North and Elm Avenues at 2:30 a.m. for reports of a rollover crash.

A 19-year-old man was driving west on North Road when, for unknown reasons, he turned the curb and struck a bus stop.

The car then overturned and caught fire.

The driver died on the spot, and two passengers, aged between their teens and early 20s, were injured and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

It is not known whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
