A small plane lands on I-15 in Payson and collides with five vehicles

PAYSON, Utah (KUTV) — After a small plane successfully landed on I-15 in Payson, a five-vehicle crash involving the plane occurred shortly thereafter.

Cameron Roden of the Utah Highway Patrol confirmed that the plane landed safely on northbound I-15 on Monday evening.

Roden said the plane had unspecified problems when it successfully made an emergency landing near the 250 mile marker.

Roden said five vehicles were involved in the collision after the plane landed.

There were no reports of injuries to anyone on the plane, but two people in the vehicles were transported to the hospital with serious injuries and one with moderate injuries, Roden said.

Roden said northbound I-15 will be closed at 800 South for at least three hours.

The NTSB is investigating.

The number of people in the vehicles and plane was not disclosed.
